Wink new member to forum

hello to all
been a bottle hound for years now and always enjoy learning about yours and my finds
the history and the enjoyment of locating a new bottle is very entertaining
found a new hobby to entertain myself with and that is metal detecting
first time was jan 10th
so anywho was out at a river near here (live in central Ca near Modesto)
was gonna do some detectin and was looking for area to start sweepin and ended up runnin through the brush for hours lookin for signs of yesteryear, without much luck, when over a stump and through a thicket I step almost on this bottle its green and has the words BREV. BOLLA on the front of it
about an hour or so later in the thickets I see this other bottle half buried in the sand
been tryin to find out anything about them ?
can anyone here help identify these?
thanks
Sam

P.,S
got more bottles and of course more questions too will post more at a later date

Default Bottles

SAM, Both bottles are newer bottles. The one with BREV BOLLA is an Italian Wine Dist. by Garrett & Company located in Norfolk,Va. and the other is either a Demi-John or a Gallo wine bottle...Both are nice bottles but really have no resale value at the present time....PAPPY

PAPPY

well I shoulda known?lolfound near an area where there was once an old town called San Joaquin city ,it was a river crossing ferry at that location called Durham ferry ,the town existed up until the early 1900's around 1920 as a distribution point for the grains (mainly wheat)grown here in the central valley (CA)
The town (pop. 1000 - 1400)has dissappeared without a trace, theres nothing but open spaces and cows grazing old oaks and sand ?

Thanks for the info
and where do you find the resources for all of the terrific information on glass
your like a wizard!
