I think Eric did report it but nothing came of it. It probably was there for many years.
Many folks buried their loved ones on their farms.

Eric by any chance was that shallow grave in the sacandaga area? A lot of graves were hastily dug and reburied on high ground just before the lake went in. I know of one family that has a grave or two in their basement. I don't think that it was too uncommon for a family to bury loved ones in the cellar until spring came. The rocky ground in the area also made for rough digging which could also contribute to the grave being shallow. I personally would appologize to the person that I dug up and explain to him/her that your intentions are good. Its always good to keep the spirits on your side. Jason

That had to be pretty creepy. Anyone else here ever accidently dig up a coffin or body, or something that they may have thought was something else at first? I'll give an example. On one cellar hole cache hunt I came to the corner of the stone wall that surrounds the cellar. I was finding small barrel loops and long blade like metal scrape pieces in the area. The corner was extremely difficult to get to because of some thick dense brush. I cut away some of the brush and noticed a nice basketball sized piece of quartz in the corner. I was thinking that it was some type of marker stone, maybe a hidden cache!! I climbed under the brush and flipped the rock over and about 6 inches down I saw something very creepy looking. It was a perfectly smooth and mud coated object that resembled a human baby skull. I almost covered it back up but I had to know. To my relief it turned out to be a stone. Maybe a stone cannonball. I'm still not sure as I can't find a place to get it verified without paying an arm and a leg. But it wasn't the first time I've uncovered a stone that looked like a skull. It always creeps me out when I see it. Lets hear some spooky stories. Oh and by the way congrat's on the gold ring Eric. Jason

Me and a buddy was digging a farm dump in Cranberry,Pa. and found a human skull in turned up a black lady in her mid 50's where never went back. Turned into the police they did a search for more parts but no go on them. It was a pretty good dump, found depression ware ,crocks, and other little nicknakes.
