rebar ?

every time i hunt close to a wall or building i was get a dollar hit with my prism5 am i maybe getting a signal off of rebar ?

VERY VERY Possible. What size coil are you using. Usually if you use a 4" coil you do not get these readings.

One thing that I found helpful is to run parallel with the slab.

Sure sounds like it to me, especially if it is a concrete wall.
If it is brick or block you would pick up the ties.

yea im using the 950 coil that came with the prism5

i have the prism 3. if i walk along the edge of side walks and my coil gets to close i get the rebar. so i do like like crbhood says. for the first 18inches or so i sweep paralel with the walk. then i can get far enough away that the ends of coil sweep doesnt get close enough to the walk to get the tones.
