Question Silver Ore?

Pappy,

I found this... and on my ace 250 it is showing between the 10 cent and 25 cent (Silver Range)

How do I find out or are there some tests I can do to it to see if it is silver?

thanks,
Brandon

Default Silver?

Might take it by a jewelry store and ask them if they have a test kit to test it.

One simple test that can help is to see if a magnet will stick to it. If it is silver it wont. It is a great question but I am just learning some of these things myself.

Default Silver Testing

You may also want to take a look at this site.

E-Bay has a large variety of Silver/Gold testing kits available at real reasonable prices also. Good investment in the long run.

Search e-bay under: Silver/Gold testing kits.

could it be iron? it looks to have rust on the exterior. If it is magnetic there is a chance it may be a meteorite. If so there could be more in the area, and they would be worth a lot if by some chance they are meteorites.
Happy Hunting,

It's not magnetic I tried. It is really shiny inside.

I am going to take it to a jeweler and see if they have any ideas what it is.

Tell ya what Brandon, draw me a map of the exact location where you found it and I'll investigate it further - Hey ya can't blame a guy for tryin! Let us know what the outcome is after you bring it to a jeweler. I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya hoping it's silver.
