Is this play money?

Hi Pappy. Randy in Durham. My parents showed me some bills a family member had given them many years ago. Along with some Confederate bills, there were some small ( 1.5"x 3")? bills and some regular size bills with the value as centavos (one, tem, etc.) and above that the words Japanese government.
Ever heard of this? Also what looked like Japanese writing on bottom....

RANDY, yes I have heard of these bills. I have a few myself. They are from the occupation period of WWII. Most have been stamped with Occ. Japan and some have writing on them. Came from the Phillipines during the war. Would love to see some photo's of them and what they have written on them. If anything comes up in N.C. I'll let you know....PAPPY
