I would venture to say that it came from the 1904 ST. LOUIS WORLD FAIR.

Thanks Pappy for the site...This item was actually bent in half, I had to do a little work on straightening it out...Does seem to have a bit of gold guild on the back if I am saying that right, the top looks as if it could have maybe had a latch or hook there possibly...notice the damaged area, could have broke off, just a thought...could have been a pendant at one time or a medal type souvineer??? Another one to get the imagination going!!! Is the size of a quarter and there is a bit of red still visiable, with colors of red white and blue and a yellow gold. Very thin.

Is there anything on the reverse of the 1904 token?
I'm just guessing that it may be related to the 1904 Worlds Fair/Louisiana Purchase Exposition ,with the Fleur-de-lis representing the French territory. and a possibility of the 14 stars ..represent the 14 states that have been carved from the Louisiana Purchase. (Oklahoma did not become a state till 1907) or it could just be a boy scout thing as someone mentioned. * Whoops just found out Boy Scouts started around 1907* This was quoted by intr7uder on another post... Thanks for the possibilites here!!! RingDancer |
