i found this near the old train station by me. can you tell me anything about it?

It's not an old insulator. From around the late 1950's.It could be used as a electric fence insulator or it may have come from an old telephone pole line.Ceramic....Both had the screw on type insulator....PAPPY

ok thanks. i was hoping it was older but you cant win them all. how would i be able to tell its old so next time i dont come home with garbage.

The one you found is not garbage. It's just not really old. When you look for insulators with some value look for the glass ones in amber, blue, green and bluishgreen..Hemingrays, Outters Etc. Most of the glass insulators are marked and numbered...Keep up the good work...PAPPY

SOLD ALL OF MY BOTTLE AND INSULATOR COLLECTION BEFORE I MOVED...SORRY...DO HAVE TWO THAT I MADE BOOK ENDS OUT OF BUT THEY ARE PACKED AWAY SOMEWHERE. WHEN I COME ACROSS THEM I WILL POST A PIC.....OH, I FORGOT...I DO HAVE 8 THAT ARE STILL MOUNTED ON THEIR POST WITH THE WIRE STILL ON THEM...TELEGRAPH INSULATORS. I'LL SEE IF I CAN LOCATE THEM AND POST A PIC...PAPPY
