Default Hey Pappy Can U ID?

Pappy I found this at a site that I have found several CW artifacts.....A fellow TQ member "Digging Fool" dug one in W.Va.....both of us are stumped...It's larger than a quarter but smaller than a half and a little less than a 1/2" thick...made of brass.....can u help?

It looks like the insided is threaded, like it would go on the end of a pipe. Am I just crazy?

I am NOT POSITIVE, BUT, I think it is a cover for a concrete floor electerical box.

George, I can tell you with little doubt that these two "things" are from the Civil War. We may never know exactly what they are, but I am totally convinced. If you and I have the only known 2 of these, they are rare. On the other hand, they may have caused us too much worry over their purpose, and maybe we need to each take them back out to bury them, so someone else will have the same problem that we have. Only kidding, of course....
