How old is this...?

In my treasure quests in and around my town of Milton Florida, I saw this old winch/lift combo...to me it looks rather dainty but maybe a long time ago its what this local shade tree mechanic (it was in a vacant lot between two homes) used back in the day...any idea as to age/ purpose...Thanks Rick Last edited by Ric-san; 05-19-2008 at 11:51 AM.

It could be something to hang wild game on to skin and clean, but it looks kinda weak to hang a deer or hog on.

It looks old enough to know better but young enough that you wouldn't find old silver there. If the well itself is much older there's a possibility but most folks didn't use their drinking water well as a wishing well.
