Just to tell you we started with the most obvious link, the company he ran before retiring, by sending a careful email request decribing the find and asking for his family to contact us.

We still have links enough to keep on searching in case of failure.

The finder is ready to return the bracelet to the family if they want it, otherwise he will give it to a war museum in our well known Belgian Ardennes, so that it would be seen by every visitor.

Will keep you posted.

Once again thank you all, guys, I was just thinking, if this had happened twenty years ago, it would have taken months to gather the informations.

God bless and happy hunts.

Nick the Belgian.

Hi all !

Three days after mailing the company, we've still got no answers. In the mean time, a member of the Belgian MD forum will start his own investigations using the other links I received on this thread.

Will keep you posted.

God bless !

Nick

Hi Nick, and thanks for the update. Don't be discouraged! But, if your efforts to contact the family doesn't work out, putting the bracelet into the museum is a wonderful idea. Good luck!

Alas, so far we did not receive any reaction

In the mean time, I got Mrs Barfield full address, and the name (without address) of two close relatives which might be children.

We certainly do not want to trespass US privacy laws (which we are not familiar with btw), and certainly won't brutally enter the life of an 80+ old lady.

We are trying to find some other connexions.

HH

Nick
