Default war of 1812 medal ?

found this old medal at the site of the training grounds of the local militia during the war of 1812.There is an eagle on one side with the slogan "...... .... ..... the american system" and on the other side what apears to be the profile of a person.its in rough shape and i cant make out much more but would appretiate any info as to what this is.

Default 1812 Token

RIP, The "TOKEN" that you located has a profile of JAMES MADISON on one side and the AMERICAN EAGLE on the other. The perceived American victory in the War Of 1812 ushered in an era of Madison's "AMERICAN SYSTEM" a policy aimed at economic self sufficiency. I have seen one before but right off hand can't tell you what the engraving is on the side with the eagle. I will check further and let you know when I can. Hope the above helped a little....PAPPY

Default war of 1812

Hello here are some pic.s of some of my finds. The story is that i had serched this spot many times hoping to find a chicken colonel button as my father had found 2 at this spot years ago.So on mothers day 2004 i planted lillys on my moms grave and then whent to the "glowworm" (site of the milita training grounds) As i got my detector ready i noticed a pach of lillys,so i started here and imediatly found 3 colonel buttons in a row.About a week later i returned and as i was getting out my detector i thought"ok mom show me the silver" my first signal was an 1806 half real.I continue to search this spot and have found so far this year 1 1818 large cent, the token, several more buttons, and other odds and ends, but so far no gold.
