Default Silver cylinder?

Found this sterling silver cylinder today at this old property I've been detecting. Shown is a silver button, my 2 IH's from today, part of a bullet, and the cylinder. Any thoughts on what it is? Looks to be about 1/2 inch opening. Maybe a part of a pen?

Default Cylinder

1/2" ?? Too big for a pen (Writing pen). Does it have any type markings on it at all other than marked sterling?

It looks like the remains of a silver sewing timble to me. Some of them had a wooden or boiled leather end for better grip on the needle.(the silver would have remained after the wood or leather rotted away)

Nice Tickets,
