Button
hello pappy Im new to the forum got a question for you I got a button about the size of a nickle with the words "stand colour treble gilt" was wondering if you could tell me anything about it. It has no design on the front just the words on the back. Sorry no pic should be getting a camara soon. Thanks for your time. Hope to hear from you.

J.W., Sorry for the delay in answering your question. The button you have located is a NAVY VEST BUTTON from the Civil War. A 23mm button like yours usually sells for about $175.00 and the 25mm. one sells for around $200.00....PAPPY

Thanks pappy I did a little research on it and from what I found it was a army button from the war of 1812 but none of the buttons they showed matched mine so I wasnt sure. The civil war peried seems more like the time period that this should be from. Thank you again pappy I really appreciate it. J.W.
