Hi Folks!
I'm not up on my Spanish coinage, but it would appear to be a Spanish coin: On the second pic, you can see "Anno 1736", or the year 1736. Maybe 8 reale? Have no idea if it's real, a total fabrication, or a reproduction. Where did you get it from or find it? HH! -Tom |

Appreciate the update. I think it's most likely a reproduction. Most Spanish coins were either silver or gold. Will have to research what, if any, "minor denomination" coins they made in copper based alloys. Brass is suspect... It's copper and zink, with zink being a fairly recently refined metal. I'd suspect either pure copper, or possibly bronze (copper and tin) wouyld be the composiyion of minor coinage. Then there was the Spanish attempt at using "worthless" platinum to try and pass it off as real silver.... HH! -Tom |

Tom yeah i think its a dud.Broke the bad news to my bud (he figgerd as much as i wasint in aruba today and showed up for work) But i told him that it could be somthing cuz im no expert and to take it to someone.But i think its a lost couse.Would be nice to find one for real.Next huricane im thinking of goin camping .
