Default Button help

Hello again Pappy I got a button that is the size of a quarter the front side is a silver color or it was, has a little left on it the back side is very corroded. The back has some words It has I think 4 words on it the only ones I can make out are the words "best" and "plated" Thats what I get and I think there right. The button also did have a shank on it at one time. Any help would be appreciated. You have helped me so much in the past hope you can help me now. Thanks so much Pappy hope to hear from you.

JW, THE WORDING ON THE BUTTON LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT IT WOULD HAVE POSSIBLY COME FROM THE 1940's OR 1950's."PLATED" IS WHAT REALLY CAUGHT MY ATTENTION AND IT STILL WOULD BE HARD TO TELL WITHOUT SEEING A PHOTO. THAT WORDING WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN USED DURING THE COLONIAL, PRE-C.W. OR POST-C.W. THE COLONIAL FLAT BUTTON WHICH WOULD BE ABOUT THE SIZE OF A QUARTER (JUST A LITTLE SMALLER) WOULD HAVE NO WORDING ON IT AT ALL AND WOULD HAVE MORE THAN LIKELY BEEN SILVER. WISH I COULD HELP A LITTLE MORE.PAPPY

Thanks Pappy The foundation I found this at is old older then the 40s or 50s but there is a house not to far from there and they used the foundation as a dump so it very well could have come from them. I did find a colonial button about a foot away from this button so I figured this one was from the same era. You are truelly a big help I really appreciate it. Thanks a lot Pappy. JW
