mlee1969, You have located a truly Beautiful little Civil War Collectable. The little bell that you have is carved from a CW Bullet.I have located many carved bullets on the East Coast but NEVER a little bell like you have found. During the Civil War when sitting around camp with nothing else to do the Soldiers often carved bullets. Sometime they carved fishing weights, dice, checkers and the such.I have also seen identification tags that were made from lead (Bullets).
CONGRAT'S on your find and if you get the chance...Check that area again....PAPPY ![]()
