It was down about 1 inch and my ACE 250 sang like a canary.

KIM, APPEARS TO ME THAT IT IS A DIAMOND SCRIBE. USED TO INSCRIBE METALS. SUCH AS MARKING THEM FOR I.D. PURPOSES OR JUST INSCRIBING YOUR NAME ON PERSONAL ITEMS.....PAPPY

Just wondering if it is spring loaded. Tools like that are made for peening over small rivet heads and screws. Also some use them for shattering auto windows. Usually slow direct pressure on an item will trigger mechanism to impact. Dug

Well What you have there is a Draftsman pencil. I loved my old one I lost it about 3 years ago getting in my truck. That looks like a nice one to good find

Oh by the way it does have a spring but just to hold one big peice of lead

If the tip is spring loaded, it is for making small punch marks in steel for layout work, or spotting for a center punch. But it could be the pencil also.
