I like to use an item called MS 70. This item is available at your local coin shop. You soak a q-tip in the solution and then lightly wipe the surface of the coin to clean. This has no acid so it will not etch your coin. It will remove toning and dirt. It should remove the stain that you are talking about.

Who makes it? I will try it.
Thanks for the hints fellows!
