help with a couple of botts?

one is about 5 3/4" tall, it looks like an old med, and says "FOSS' 2 OZ.FL." then under that "LIQUID FRUIT FLAVORS" then under that "PORTLAND.ME" it is all written sideways on the bottle. got it for 2 bux today at a small shop. thanks alot.

the other is half an inch shorter and says "THE CHAS.H.PHILLIPS" then under that "CHEMICAL CO." then under that "NEW YORK". it is all written sidways on the bottle. got this one for 5 bux.

The Charles Phillips Chemical Company is still in operation today in New York. The bottle you have should be square, clear and approx. 4 1/2" in height. It would normally sell from $1.00-$4.00.Contained a cleaning chemical at one time.

The FOSS Company is no longer in operation. Closed around the mid 1900's. The bottle at one time contained some type food flavoring..Vanilla, Strawberry,Peach or the such usually for baking cakes. Bottle mfg. in Portland Maine. Valued at approx. $2.00
