Shotgun shell id

I read somewhere you can kinda get a idea of the age of a area by the shotgun shells you dig up...There was a Link to a site to date these shells
but i cant find it to save my life....can anyone help??

It's really good at IDing shells, somewhat more limited in exact dating--but sometimes it will tell you when a company was in business, when it was bought out and changed the name on the shells, etc. I prefer to use nice silver coins to date a site (lol)--but this helps when all I can pull out of the ground are shotgun shells. Site also has info on other shells.
