economic slaves
I live near Bainbridge, Ga. and came up with these tokens. 5 denominations of both kinds...5,10,25,50 cent & 1.00. First set reads ...receipt for --in labor, obverse reads stuart lumber co., brinson -ga-not transferable. Other set reads...good for -- in merchandise with a braided ring around outside edge, obverse reads n.h.george & company, also braided. All made of trade alum. and octagon shaped. Since their workers got paid only with these tokens, redeemable only at the company store, they had a form of slavery/serfdom. Somewhere around 1917 the lumber company was made to pay cash, and these tokens wound up in a nearby creek. What is your make on these tokens and worth? I have single pieces also.
