Default Any Clue On This Very Small Brass Whatzit?

Hey PAPPY, thought I'd ask if you knew anything about this Brass Whatzit. It was found in a Civil War Camp at Corinth, MS. It measures with calipers: .065 thick x .360 x .410.
Very small item indeed!

***CORRECTION EDIT 9:11 PM 11/11/2005: I had this piece mixed up with the next piece I need assistance with. This piece came from the woods far away from the present house. Found in the area with CW Buttons, Bullets, etc. I checked my records to make sure!***

Thanks For Your Assistance, Roger

ROGER, If I am reading it right coupled along with the symbol on the front it could possible be a small Japanese TORU Token. It would have probably been lost by someone who was practicing Generation of Whole Body Expressive Movement based on Somatical Theories. These theories were practiced during the Civil War and prior to the civil war and still practiced today in the US and Japan. Please let me know if I am reading the piece correctly. TORU is the art of expressing one's self through different body Movements to gain inner peace....and to get away from the present...PAPPY

Default Not For Sure

Hey Pappy, The writing is hard to make out! I have on my Bifocals, looking through a Large lighted loop through a smaller loop and I'm not for sure. It appears to be a T with an open O then the R and looks like a W or U. The writing is in cursive style and it's hard to tell. Maybe I should Google search to see the writing on another?

Thanks Pappy, Roger

Hey Pappy,
While searching info on state tax tokens I found this site:
http://home.psknet.com/tbirde3/Medals/Medals.html
He shows many different items and under his miscellanous section he has Pharmacist's Apothecary scale weights. He shows both sides of one similar to mine. The symbol is the same but the marking is different.
