Hi Pappy,

Been a while since I have been able to post.

I found this dime sized metal piece at my sister's home. Can you give me some idea of what it might be. The other side is completely corroded.

Amoco is an oil company, right? But there hasn't been any oil activity on their property since the 30's.

That is a nice old find. I think that it is now called BP.

It's called a "GASOLINE DOLLAR" and was distrubuted by the Amoco Oil Company in the mid 1930's as a token of customer appreciation...( AFTER YOU HAD PURCHASED A CERTIAN AMOUNT OF GOODS OR SERVICES) You could actually use it for a dollar's worth of gas....AMOCO is the present day BP...PAPPY
