Default Gold Alter cloth

Hi,
I have this alter cloth and there are white gold chips attached to it.
It weighs in at 9 1/2 ounces. I would bet that the cloth itself doesn't weigh that much and would think that there is over 4oz of white gold there.

Would you know anything about this and its worth?

I plan to list it on the TQ auction soon.

Greg

GREG, White gold is usually 14k which is 58.33% gold. White 14k is selling for approx. $10.82 per pennyweight at the present time for anything over 25 ounces. A fair price for under 25 oz. would be approx. $9.00 per pennyweight. A Pennyweight is equal to 1.55517384 grams so 100 grams is equal to 3.527 oz's. Let's say you have an even 3 ounces at $9.00 per penny weight it would be about $2,700.00....PAPPY

I know its old and I bet there's 4 to 5 ounces of gold on it. Gold is over $500 an once right now.

I want to sell or trade and want to give a good deal.

Yep...Math is right...You have to price it according to HIGH MARKET VALUE from day to day. I didn't say it could be SOLD for that amount I said that was it's worth per pennyweight as based on the high market value. YOU NEVER resale any type gold for it's actual worth either at a right out sale or auction. Gold values are always higher than a listed price on the gold market and dealt with according to it's highest price on the market....It's kinda hard to understand because it changes sometime 3-4 times a day. Gold is listed by ounces on the market but it is bought and sold by the pennyweight..Which actually makes it's price higher....PAPPY
