Default Any Clue?

Hey Pappy, I found this yesterday and forgot to bring it home. I picked it up first thing this morning. I've never seem anything like it! It appears to have the hole for a handle like the 100+ year Hoe but this slim extension has me puzzled . If it's some sort of pick or digging tool, I'd surely hate to have dug very long using it !

Any Assistance Will Be Appreciated,
Thank You, Roger

Could this be an early "pickaroon"? They use them to move logs or turn them here, but the new ones are a lot more beefy.

Just a shot in the dark.. It's got that "hand forged" look about it, somebody needed a tool. I do a lot of leather braiding, if it were mine and the point was a little sharper I'd slip it over my finger and use it as a fid for opening up a braid before slipping another piece through. Could have been used in braiding rope as well. Like I said, just a shot in the dark.. Bob

The band length is 1 1/2" with an inside dia. of 1 5/8" on one end & 1 3/4" on the other end and the outside dia. of 1 7/8". The spike where it is made to the band measures 1/2" looking through the hole and 5/8" looking at the side. It gradually tapers the full length of 4". I'm positive that Mother Nature has changed these measurements from the original!

Pappy, Thanks Once Again For Your Efforts!
Thanks To The Others For Their Reply, Roger
