Default Looks Like a Grommet Tool

Looks alot like a grommet tool or a snap tool used for installing snaps and grommets on canvas, leather, denim and such. But the rear end looks like a firing pin the way it is housed in the outer shell. Hard to tell because I can't judge the size of the end because of the angle of the picture. I know some of the Mauser firing pins look similiar to what you have here but they are not as thick in the overall body. I have one around here somewhere in all my gunsmithing stuff and I will try to locate it and post a pic. Also the firing pin normally wouldn't have a hole drilled in the cross section beacause it weakens it some. But I have seen stranger stuff on some of the guns I have worked on.

When you measured 9/16" thick were you measuring the whole body? Thinking about it and looking at it more I am thinking maybe Savage firing pin possibly..

James
