Pappy help me identify this coin !!

My dad found this half buried in the woods 20 yrs ago, to make a long story short forgot about it and recently came across it again. The picture makes it look goldish, but it is silver, my dad said that it was real silver not nickel. Not sure about the language on the coin, Japanese, Germen, or what? The back has symbols and I can tell one is an Elephant, but not sure of the others. Could you tell me where this from, what decade,and if it has any worth?? By the way the coin was found in Louisiana, if that helps any. SORRY I COULDN'T GET THEM MORE CLEARER FOR YOU!!

CANDY, The picture is larger now but blurred. Can you tell me what the writing is on the coin?...PAPPY

I use ACDSee. It works good for me. I am sure you will get other suggestions as which one would suit you the best.

I Will try to take another picture tonight when my hausband gets home with the camera phone.

It's either Japanese, German, or something like that on the coin. On the back of the coin, there is an elephant, and it looks like maybe a crane flying. Looks like some kind of temple or maybe castle with them in symbols in the middle of it, there is other symbols too, but not sure what they are though.

No i haven't figured it out yet. I'm thinking it's something like Chinese, Japanese, it's symbols and i have tried looking at some chinese, Japanese coins to see if the symbols are alike, and i really can't match it.

I will get you a better picture tom. my dad has the coin and he was at church late.
