Default What is it?

Hello Pappy , was digging through some treasures and ran across this thing and was wondering if u or anyone had a clue as to what it is, measures about 3 inches across , about a 1/8 of a inch thick and is made of pot metal , found behind a police station of a small town in Missouri, thanks in advance ................treasurehunter00

I think it has something to do with time or a sun dial? Thats my best uneducated guess

Default It just might be....

Found one similar to yours and was told that it was for dateing battery posts with the month and year. Look at the other side to see if the stamps are visible.

Well , I just looked and it has the month and yr, I guess the mystery is solved, i just wonder why it was behind the police station, we found a barber quarter last yr or the yr before there, thanks u all!!!!........Jack
