Default What is this????

Hello Pappy ,

I bought this thing-ama-gig at a estate sale and was wondering if maybe you or someone could tell me what it is, it measures 8 by 8 inches and has a horn like thing that hooks up on the spring steel thing that turns on a peg, It has Dr LeGear's stock remedies St. Louis Mo in raised letters on the horn , any help ? thanks ......Jack

My guess would be some sort of scale/ wieghing device. The horn like end may have slid onto a pole so that the whole apparatus could swivel! Just a guess though and probably way off!!! LOL!

Default Stock Yard

JACK, These items were once known as "BRIDAL CAR'S". They were used in stock yards to administer medicines to calf's. prior to their sale.
The cone end did indeed go over a metal pole that was cemented into the ground. A bridal was then attached to the frame with chains and the calf was bridaled while the medicine was being administered. The medicine was usually administered from the South End...LOL...PAPPY
