Default Find

TERRY, Looks as though it had a hinge on it at one time and I would suspect it to be a ladies compact. Does it have any markings on it besides the design on the front? PAPPY

Because of the size I'll stick my neck out like a tortoise. Since Terry mentioned finding two of these, I'm going for a set of Bridle Rosettes that had iron keepers. Silver Plated Brass obverse, Lead filled reverse and the elements have rusted away the keepers.....and one can see the rust stain on the lead.

Just My Thoughts, Nice Finds, Roger

I think that I might go Rogers way on this one! Looks as though it was lead filled and the rust spot were where the keeper was atached! Nice find!

Default Thanks guys !

I was thinking compact or pocket watch but now i'm thinkin bridlerosettes also.I wouldent think they would use lead in a watch, unless they were going to gold plate it and try to pass it off as gold.I did find a gold plated lage cent there years ago.( still have it i think ) Also i found 2 horseshoes, and tacks close by.HH...Terry
