Default Post Civil War Find

Hey Pappy,

Haven't been around in a while. Tator rooter, his soon to be here little brother, , work, and over fertilized grass cutting, have kept me busy. (HA HA). I have been doing some coin collecting on the web.

I came across a set of old books from the 1860's called the Waverley Novels by Sir Walter Scott. Great find in itself. But in one of the books there was a Ribbon or book mark with a confederate flag on it. It had "Conferderate soldier reunion, Memphis TN, 1890." Printed on it. Any idea what it may be worth.

Also in the same find, got some old german and russin paper money, 3 base balls. One signed by Willie Mays, one signed by Jack Buck, (former voice of the Cardinals< also played for them), and one signed by Lou brock.
Picked everything up for $60.00 bucks. Everything was in one box at a junk store. Weird collection huh.

Thanks,

Rob

Sounds as though you hit the treasure trove. The ribbon is probably a ( Reunion ribbon of Civil War Vets). I certainly would have the Willie Mays and Lou Brock Certified by a reputable firm. All three items if in good condition will fetch a high price. NICE FINDS

Default Thanks

I'm at work now so I will post pics later on this post. The baseballs were signed in Tunica Mississippi at the Grand Casino according to the lady working at the junk store. The Memphis Redbirds got started up about 6 years ago and had a bid shin-dig at the Grand. A lot of Baseballs Elite were there and several items were signed. Too bad I missed that one!

Thanks again Pappy,

Rob
