Default Pappa help

I am so new to metal detecting that I still haven't purchased one :(
I am willing to spend not more then 150$ for I still do not know how will I do.
I want to buy one metal detector for me and one for my dad who lives in Balkans( very archeologically unexplored part of Europe ) so he could use it as a hobby.
Please let me know what should I look for and what are my oprtions for my money range.

Thank you,
Slavic Rusalki

If you are planning to buy 2 detectors for a total of $150 I don't think you will be able to swing it. A very good one is the Ace 250 and it goes for around $212 for a new one.
The only other thing I can think of is, if you find someone that has a used one within your price range.
But I doubt that you will find 2 machines for $150.00. If you did there would also be the shipping costs.
