Default Another one for ya Pappy

I found this brass piece...Says GEO. AlMETER at the top and PHONE 1415
at the bottom...So what part of a phone is this or age or what was it attached to!!! Any ideas??? I was just wondering...Found a neat little old well house out in the middle of nowhere...the outskirts of town...was a shocker when I ventured into the wooded area!!! Found a leg off of an old bath tub...has what looks like an eagles claw for the leg and this brass object is all I found...will have to venture back with a little more time...think this area was back before the 50's and an old farm use to be in this area...everything has changed so much from pics my dad showed me...There was an old well there in front of the building and we covered it back up...it was wide open where someone took the top off of it...not to safe.... Well looks to be old...bricked all the way down...kind of a neat find in it's self!!!

Thanks for any help...just wondering about the piece and sorry for the poor pic...still working on getting a new camera!!!

Pat

Have a good time Pat and hope you find the mother load!

Your brass piece looks like an over flow cap from an old bath tub

Ya know that's what my dad said...Sure found a leg to an old tub...possiblility....I took my dad back up to the place where the little house was and showed him...and he said that was probably from the old farm houses that he showed me a pic of...looks like someone was staying in this little shack...maybe a homeless person was camping. My dad took the pics for me of the little shack!!!

Why does it have phone 1415 on it????????

Default Overflow Cap

PAT, I believe that Greg is correct in that it is a Overflow cap. The name and the telephone number would relate to the dealer that sold the item...PAPPY

Things sure do change fast, don't they!!! I will try and get a photo and post of what this area looked like 50 years ago!!! I am just amazed....Roads then that are not here now and there was no trees... just pasture, and farm houses....Now just buildings going up everywhere!!!! New roads and interstates and lots of noise!!!
