Default Button ?

This looks like it might be a military uniform button. Any Ideas? I found it at an old homestead site where nothing is left except some old field stone that was probably part of a foundation.

Default Yes....

.....it is a US Eagle Button. Appears to be quite old, perhaps mid 19th century! Nice find!

Good find there. With it and the IH's you should keep on hitting it.

IH'S is just short for Indian head pennies.
They are also my most favorite finds.

It's pretty hard to read, but I think it says Waterburry Button Co. or something very close to that.

Default Thanks Chuck and Pappy !

Looks like it is a Union Eagle Button of Civil War era. I guess I had better search this old homestead site again. I only had an hour there and found just junk metal except for this button. There is nothing left there to identify it except some old field stones used for a foundation.
