Default Old Pistol

Pappy...
Here are this pics of a very old Pistol that I found. The picture is pretty much just the frame. The Cylinder and trigger are removed and are being cleaned...looks like the gun frame, cylinder and trigger are brass...The barrell is toast!!!!!Any idea of what type gun it is?? The grip area has me curious.

ROB, I have found several different makes and models that may be the same as the pistol you posted, However, I will reserve my opinion until you can answer a couple of questions...1. Approx. how long is the barrel?
2. How many shots does it hold, and If you have had the cylinder and trigger cleaned did you find any markings on either?....Awaiting your reply....PAPPY :D :D :D

Sorry for the delay pappy. OK. It has a Barrel that is 2 3/8 inches and the cylinder holds 7 shots. I see where the serial number is but it is hard to make out...The first number is 4. Looks like it May be 44???

O.K. I have narrowed it down to two possibilities.
1. HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON "YOUNG AMERICAN" 22cal, seven shot made in 1909 or a
2.HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON MODEL 1906 22cal.seven shot made in 1906-1907. The Young American weighed 8 and 1/2 oz. and the Model 1906 weighed 10 ozs. Both were capable of firing 22 Shorts, 22 Longs and 22 Long Rifle cartridges. This is as close as I can come unless a serial number was provided...HOPE THIS HELPED...PAPPY :D :D :D OH! BY THE WAY....In 1909 the "YOUNG AMERICAN" cost $5.25 and the Model 1906 cost $5.75 when it was made. Both either had Walnut or Rubber Grips....PAPPY :D :D :D

Default PISTOL

ROB, a P.S. The gun was lined with a thin coat of brass and covered with a metal plate. The metal plate appears to be missing on one side of your pistol and what you are seeing is the brass lining. The pistol was either nickel plated or blue at one point. My opinion is that it is a Model 1906 H&R......PAPPY :D :D :D
