I went hunting at Snorkel Park for Surf Chuch on Sunday
Snorkel park is located next to the old Royal Naval Dockyard in Bermuda, it was a dump site for the dockyard but has been converted into a water park for the passengers on the cruise ships that dock here. I knew I would be facing a tough hunt because of background interference from the trash but the chance to hunt the park before it reopened in April was too good a chance to pass up. A friend works there and arranged for access to the park which is closed to the public. Another friend is interested in our hobby and asked to tag along.
It was tough hunting to say the least and by the time we got there I had missed the low tide, but the rain had stopped, the sun was shining and my wife came along as well for a change so we had a great time. I showed my friend how to use the Excal in the wet/dry sand and he found a buck in change plus a silver spoon from one of the cruise ships. I found a little clad before my wife got bored and it was time to leave.
I'll have to get back once more before the park opens in April for another go when the tide is low, perhaps this weekend.
Cheers,
BDA
PS: My buddy like metal detecting so much that he bought a used ACE250 from a detecting buddy of mine and is out working the beaches.
