Default Changed My Mind/ DFX to PI suggestions

Hi, decided that I'm going in the direction of a PI unit. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm using a GTP 1350 at this time and find it to be a great unit for relic and coin on land, but looking to get in the water. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Rick

Location use: Santa Cruz/San Francisco Beaches. High Sierra's.

Default A friend of mine swings a Garrett Infinium and likes it a lot.

It has a steep learning curve but does give a bit of discrimination by sounding high/low or low/high as you pass over a target. High/low is a ferrous target. 8 inch coil is the way to go in the water as the stock coil is very tough to keep ground balanced in the surf.
Hip mounted this is a super light unit to swing compared to my Excal 1000, but I'm still sticking with my Excalibur.
If you have a big budget you could check out Eric Foster's custom rigs but they're a little pricey, quality doesn't come cheap especially in metal detectors. If I were going to go with a PI unit today I would go with Eric's water machine, only submersible to 6 feet though.
The Pulse Devil is supposed to be the next big thing in PI machines and it is supposed to have full discrimination. Field trials aren't done on it yet but you might want to research that unit as well. If it's all it is supposed to be then I would seriously consider getting one.

Cheers,

BDA

Thanks for the information, I have researched Mr. Eric Fosters endeavors in manufacturing what could be the best PI equipment on the planet. Also to include that he can upgrade most other manufactures equipment to be better, makes me believe he is determind in possesing the best. Thanks Again for the information. Rick
