Default Treasure Goals for Year Ending April 26th 2007

I got my Excal 1000 for my birthday on April 26, 2006 and I set a few goals at that time.

1) Find 1 piece of jewellery (gold or silver) per week - Check
2) Find 1 ring (gold or silver) per week - 1 more ring required
3) Find 1 piece of gold per week - 17 more required (gonna be tough)

I have 26 days to meet the goals I set a year ago, let's see what happens. This winter was really tough on all the pirates out there but you never know what the surf god will offer up.

35 gold (2 not shown), 34 silver, total rings 51, total jewellery 69

Spring has sprung! Good Hunting to All You Surf Pirates,

BDA

Default I owe a lot to the Generosity of Forum Members

I have some great beaches to hunt here in Bermuda but I wouldn't have found nearly as much without a lot of help from my friends on various treasure hunting forums. A Nicer bunch of people would be very hard to find, indeed. Sharing our finds and experience with each other makes this hobby truly wonderful.
Some of my personal theories on hunting are a little different from the traditional approach but they work for me, most of the time.

Good Hunting to All my Fellow Pirates,

BDA

Default I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

This island has a lot of history and sees a lot of well-heeled tourists each year. The islands of Bermuda are made of coral-based limestone sitting on top of an extinct volcano so there is no black sand or mineralization to worry about.
My Excal goes really deep here. There are very few detectorists here and even fewer who work the water, mostly dry sanders.
Trash is the biggest problem when hunting here because the ocean has been a dumping ground since the island was colonized 500 years ago. Unfortunately, we are just north of the Sargasso Sea which has a very high salinity content which breaks things down fairly quickly so alot of the older finds have literally been eaten by the ocean.

Good Hunting to All,

BDA

Even if you do not make you goal, you have found enough to say you came pretty darn close!

Default I haven't had much luck since Christmas, Steve.

The sand has been pretty thick all winter and work has been especially busy, so less time to hunt. I'm thinking that it will take a huge honeyhole to meet my goal for my treasurehunting year. A lot of my regular hunting grounds need restocking or overburden removed at the moment.
I have 18 days to find 17 rings and I won't be able to hunt everyday, NOT looking to good for achieving my goal.
Still, it is better to aim for the stars and hit an eagle, than to aim for an eagle and hit a rock.

How's the hunting been in Peurto Rico lately?

Regards,

BDA
