Early this week I tried hunting Chaplin Bay on the South Shore, it's very exposed and I got tossed onto a coralhead by a rogue wave, today I went back. This place is tough to hunt because of the large waves but the wind was from the NW the last few days so I figured it would be calm.
Got there an hour before low and BINGO just a light swell. I've only got 26 days to find 17 gold so I got into the water fast. Even with just a small swell there was a wicked undertow that threatened to pull me out over my head a couple of times and made it really difficult to dig targets. I eventually retreated to chest deep water for safety sake. I found my first cell phone (dead and buried under some rocks), some trash and a 925 silver cross from Mexico BUT NO GOLD! Only 25 days left!
It was a Bermudaful day to be at the beach, I hope everyone else enjoyed themselves too!
