Default Beach Hunting Question

I would like to take the main unit of my water detector off the shaft and either carry it on a belt or at chest level. How do you guys fix your rig for a waist or chest mount? Do you just use a belt, a belt with suspenders, a harness? If you can give me some specifics that would be very helpful. Thanks for any advice you can give me!

Which machine do you use? That would help us to help you.

Default Hello Praynman...

...Tesoro makes two beach/water machines. The Tiger Shark and the Sand Shark. The Tiger is a VLF with discrimination and a special Salt Mode. The Sand is a PI, with no discrimination, but also no interference fromthe Wet Salt Sand!

If discrimination is important to you, then the Tiger Shark is the way to go. In the Salt Mode, it is way less sensitive to the Salt, but will still chirp at you a bit. However, the chirpping is slight and doesn't sound anything like a hit on a good target.

Many beach hunters hunt in all metal not using discrimination because they don't want to miss the small gold items. If this would be the case for you, then the Sand Shark at a lesser price than the Tiger Shark should be strongly looked at!

Both machines are very well built, and have the Life Time Warranty from Tesoro. You can see them both at: Treasure Hut. At Treasure Hut we also offer a 10% TQ Member discount on accessories, and free shipping.

I am a PADI DiveMaster, and have many-many dives under my belt with both machines. I can attest to the quality and ease of use and proficiency of both. If I can help you further, please don't hesitate to ask!

I use the Tiger Shark in salt and fresh water and it is one tremendous machine. You can very easily hip-mount it. Chuck is correct about the chirping but after a couple minutes you get used to it and won't even notice it.

I use a fisher 1280x. It came with a belt mounting piece. The more familiar I get with it , the more I realize I've left treasures behind. Good luck with your choiceand HH

Default Re: Beach Hunting Questions

I just bought a Tesoro Sand Shark from Chuck. I want depth and to be able to hunt in any situation.

I am purchasing the pouch for the body mount. For relic and competition, I use a pistol, suspenders, canteen holder, SAW magazine holder, etc. I like the belt with suspenders because it takes the weight off my shoulders plus I don't show any CRACK! ;) I guess I will mount the pouch and my other stuff on the pistol belt.

Congratulations!!! You'll have to add that to your arsenal list on your user profile. You'll have to let us know how it works out for you.
