Default silver,cross and copper ring

Wife and I hunted Daytona Beach on Sunday, We had a great time. The wife hunted the dry sand and found a cross and a hand full of Quarters., I hunted the water and wet sand...found a copper ring with a cool pattern on the outside also found 2 silver dimes 1947,1964 also 2 wheats 1946 and a 194? can't read the date... we found some nickels that dated 1946 and 2 1964,,,all in all it was a great day playing in the sand,,,

Yeah my brother lives in Port Orange and I'm usually at Daytona for the race this upcoming weekend. Kind of sad i'm not there to go hunt the beach. But I'll leave you guys to the hunting. Looks like you guys don't need me wishing you luck but good luck in future hunts.

Default Nice Work!

The sand must be really moving around to find so many old coins on a beach as well hunted as Daytona. Good bit of hunting, guys.

Talked to a friend that hunted Daytona Beach today and he found some more 1940's coins today. For the last few weeks may beach hunters have been finding coin's in the 1940"s and some merc also...we ar all trying to figure it out too......My fron found lots of nickels today that all are 1940"s Anyone have any ideas why all these type of coins keep showing up in the surf...just so you know it is all in one area about a mile long......I have hunted just south of the area and just north of the are with no older finds......

Tom, maybe that stretch of beach was heavily used in the 1940's for some reason. Also, it is quite possible that the shifting tides moved some sand around in that particular area over the years bringing those coins a little closer to the surface. I really don't have the answer. I am still trying to figure out how gold from a sunken ship finds it way to the beach?

Nice finds, Dri-wash. There is always something hiding in the sand!

Default Is there a good size cut in that area of the beach?

It appears to me that a 1940's era section of beach has been uncovered, at least for the moment. Hunt it Hard! There's got to be some good loot in there, if you just take the time to look for it.
