Default Batten down the hatches, Steve in PR

Tropical Depression 4 is headed your way and predicted to be a CAT 2 Hurricane by the time it reaches you. There's gonna be some great hunting for you after it passes. Every cloud has a silver lining, even a hurricane if you happen to be a pirate.

Be careful. I will be in San Juan next week. I hope the hurricane does not happen, they scare me.

Bermuda, I've been watching this one since it came off the coast of Africa. I keep an eye on it starting in June. I am pretty much ready. They are saying it will pass this weekend and there is a bit of disagreement as to whether it will pass to the north or to the south. If it goes south, the beaches I hunt will get stirred up and I will be out as soon as I can. If it goes north, it will be a non-event for me.

Julie, if you are coming down over the weekend, it may effect your flight. Otherwise you should be ok.

Here is a link to the satellite infrared imagery loop that I use to keep watch of what comes off the African coast.

Thumbs up Beach Hunting

Sounds like there will be some beach erosion making for some great beach hunting.

Stay safe, and get out the beach machine as soon as it passes.

Looks like we are going to get a little action out of this one. We will be about 150 to 175 miles to the north of the eye. They are forecasting winds in the 40-45 mph range but a LOT of rain.

The rain extends out about 250 miles from the center so we will get wet.

I will take some video and pictures if I can. It will start at night so I am not sure how much I will actually get.

They sometimes turn off the power just as it arrives so I might not get anything out until the internet is working again, probably sometime Sunday.

If all goes well, I will try to get down to the beach to see if there is any sand movement. I suspect that the south beaches will get hit hard.

If there is a lot of rain, the roads will be flooded so I am not hopeful I will make it to the beach until things have drained out.

Here's a link to the 'floater' satelite that is following it,

Default Looks Like a Perfect Storm for a Surflooter!

If all goes as forecasted you should get maximum impact with minimum risk, Very Nice. Enjoy the Hurricane Party once you get batten down but don't enjoy it so much you miss the hurricane itself. We drank far too much champagne at our last hurricane party and wound up missing the first half of the storm.

Stay safe, Steve and I hope you find lots of old gold after the storm passes.

Cheers,

BDA

I love a good storm and can only imagine what a really BIG one would be like. Keeps you in check and reminds you of how small you are in the world. I'm very happy that it doesn't look like it will be too serious for you. Good luck in finding that good treasure after the storm!!!
