Default DetectorPro Pirate

Hey everybody!

Kellyco is getting DetectorPro's new Pirate in around the first of October, and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on it? I got a chance to run around with it outside for fun and it's incredibly lightweight! I know it's water resistant, so it can get wet, but it's not meant for underwater searching just wading into the surf and such. Oh! And I read that the coil won't float in water, which is really awesome considering how lightweight it is.

Anyway, anybody got thoughts? Anybody really gotten to try one out yet? Just wondering!

Are you all gonna carry the entire DetectorPro line, or just the Pirate. I read somewhere that the Pirate is not made in the same place as the rest of their detectors.

And if you had any specs on this new machine it would be awesome to see them. JC

I would be VERY interested to see how this MD is reviewed. I've been wondering about getting a MD that will work really well in a saltwater environment without freaking out, but light enough to hunt on land. What an innovative idea to have the controls in the headphones. I've never seen anything like that before.

If anyone ends up buying this please post your comments.

Thanks!!!!

Default Yup, we got the whole line!

We are getting the whole line, but I think it's going to trickle in over the next couple of months (but i'll letcha know when we officially have a product). And yeah, the Pirate is good for salt and fresh water, but of course it isn't submersible. People around here are sayin' it's great for land because it's SO lightweight.

Discovery Pro Headhunter Pirate Metal Detectors - Kellyco Metal Detectors

That's the link to our page about it. It looks like a really fun machine, and the fact that it's so lightweight is awesome! Like I said, I'd love to get some field-test feedback on it!

Here's some stuff from Kellyco's page:

"Adjustable, padded headphones allow you to control the volume and discrimination with two knobs on the side. Miniaturized circuitry is built into the water-resistant headphones in a unique design to maximize performance. Two 9Volt batteries are all you need to power the Pirate and they can be easily installed in the inside of the headphone muff, tucked away for protection from the outdoors. Not only are these headphones packed with technology, they're also comfortable and lightweight. Polymer muffs with full-ear surround soft cushions encase your ears and allow you to hear the tiniest sound, while the discrimination control eliminates most trash items!
Summery: The most attractive feature of the Pirate is its easy-to-use, family-friendly user interface miniaturized and built into the water-resistant headphones. Breaking it down and taking it on a trip is so easy to do that it practically begs to join the family on a trip to the beach! And the Pirate is water resistant, so feel free to wade into the surf with the coil and lower shaft in your search for treasure!"
