Never been there myself...I heard the "haunted" castle was a great place to take kids...but I think it burned down or something years ago.

Good luck! Let us know what you find!

Just north of Atlantic City, NJ. Had a neat "haunted castle" that was built out over the water. Rikki's right it burnt down, probably about 20 years ago.

I think detecting the beach where the castle was should be good. I was only there once too, but there were hoardes of people then.

No place is hunted out but sometimes it is pretty slow going between finds. Good luck if you go?

Spent several hours on Brigantine beaches yesterday and again this morning. Of course we were mostly hunting the dry sand so we found some clad but not even alot of that. This was one of the cleanest beaches I've ever seen. Decided to venture down a little into the wetter sand....Eureka! A watch!!! It was down about 4 inches. It says Tiffany & Co. Portfolio on the face, has just a slight bit of rust on the clasp, and is still running! I priced it on Ebay and there are 2 that are similar but the band on one is slightly different. "buy it now" prices are $300 to $366!!!

The two items on the top row were found by my DH. The piece on the left is part of a musical instrument he found 2 weeks ago while hunting a part with a band shell. The ring was found yesterday in Atlantic city. more on that story in another thread....
