Default 10/10 + 10/11

10/10 + 10/11
went out in the salt water yesterday (10/10) - did not find anything even though i had a number of loud tones - might’ve been too deep for lazy me to dig?
Anyway - while i was detecting (here in s.i., ny) i saw plenty of game fish breaking the water + making a roiling effect in the water - it was so nice watching them. About 10 min later i started to see some much bigger fish breaking the water, obviously eating the smaller schools of fish. After about another 15 min the bait fish were all over the place in front of me + even started hitting my legs in good numbers - about the same time the bigger fish were jumping ALL OVER the place eating the bait fish. It was so awesome to be there + see this + even more to feel it!
Now i am not totally dumb as to which fish are here + i knew they were bluefish - so i got out of the water after watching this amazing show for a while. This was one of the coolest things i have ever seen! Needless to say - every fisherman on the beach was where i was also. As i felt it was prudent to leave the water + stood on the shore the older gent (next to where i walked in) caught about a 6lb bluefish + asked if anyone wanted it. I immediately said i did + he gave it to me. Well - the long + short of this is that i had an utterly fantastic time even though i did not find anything.
Ps. We were eating store bought fish that night so both fillets of the bluefish (each are enough for wifie + me) went into the freezer - but they will not be there for long.
10/11 went into the water at the beach i have found my greatest number of finds - did not find anything even though i had a number of hits. It was so hard detecting because of the waves that i could not stay centered on the spot. But, on a positive note i used my top piece of my wetsuit (for the first time) + it worked great!
Pss. - My next investment will be in chest high waders.

Sounds like a couple interesting days! My aunt prepared Bluefish Cajun style. She called it Blacken(d) Bluefish! Tasty!

Must have been a cool thing to watch!

I went out on a party boat and saw something like that, caught a bunch of them that day, they were following weakies, caught some weakies also.

Wow! That's one of those, "I'm alive" moments. Must have been just breathtaking. I wouldn't care if I had found anything after that. Great story!!!
