I have a wet suit, haven't used it for detecting yet. I'm going to get a Tiger Shark. The wetsuit is a Scuba Pro. Great for the fall and spring. Way too hot in the summer though.

Congrats on the new waders, and the hunt! I bet they really help with the cold water, Beale.

Anything that extends the season gives you an advantage over other hunters, even if you are finding trash once in a while, eventually you are going to find the good stuff.

i have a sea quest 3.5mm bottom which i use in reasonably warm weather up here in ny - anotherwords - i used it in salt water all summer (don't forget that this is my 1st year detecting).
i have a tommy john 5mm top + bottom which i use when it gets colder. the one thing i do not like about it is that it has an attached head-piece which is aggravating. i will probably end up taking the scissors to it since i have a seperate head-piece if i need it + i do not dive. as for the quality of both suits - they both work + do the job. i will not say they are the best or the best buy as i am not experienced enough to say this. donald |
