Default Found a little glitter

Went down to my favorite "hunted out" beach this afternoon. I had gone sailing there yesterday and noticed that there was movement of the sand, a clear sign that I needed to get down there asap. I had not visited since the end of October so it was due.

I first found the silver ring with opals along the wave break area. It is marked 925 O so I am assuming that means opals. They vary in size and they are translucent so that's a good sign. I went out further and found the cross (silverplated) and the gold earring. It is missing the clasp but I suspect it is 10 karat. It was in the water a long time and I will need to put it through a 2nd cleaning.

Some old clad ($1.50 in quarters) and a lot of junk rounded out the finds.

All in all, a nice hunt.

Nice finds Steve! Are those rubies or garnet?

I think they are either garnet or glass. Can't find my loupe so I'll play it safe. When I take too long of a break, I misplace all my stuff!
