Default My 3rd platinum ring from my private beach

My gale of the past few days was a bit of a disappointment for me as I was expecting the gale out of the SW as per the forecast but it came in out of the N instead, useless for churning up the South Shore Beaches as this made them the lee shore. The winds quieted down this morning so I decided to get out for a hunt of the low tide at 1015 but I knew that the South Shore would be a waste of time, so what to do? My private beach faces north so I reluctantly decided to give it a go for the first time in months. I've pounded this beach to death over the past 20 months so I expected little loot but it was convenient and I wanted to hunt. I spent 2 hours in the water and it was decidedly cool but very worthwhile when I found a nice 18k yellow gold and platinum band at the edge of a turtle grass patch. The sand was really quiet so I had decided to work the turtle grass for a change in the hope that I had missed something there on previous hunts, it's a low percentage hunting area but it delivered big time today. I also picked up a single American quarter (also in the turtle grass) but that was to be expected as the beach has been very heavily hunted by yours truly. I'm now sipping a shot of my favorite Tequila and trying to get the circulation back into my body.
All 3 of the platinum rings I've found have come from my beach which I share with a hotel resort that starts at over $500/night. I'm thinking that in order to find platinum you've got to go where the swimmers can afford this special metal.

Good Hunting to All Pirates,

BDA

Congratulations BDA, not on one, or two but on 3 platinum rings!

I've only ever found one, but that was only because someone stopped me at the beach to talk to me about detecting, he asked me if my detector could pick up platinum and "gently" laid his ring on the sand .

So anyway, I'd be happy to find one!

So far I've found one very old license plate, a lot of nails, some funky green pennies and other misc. change.. but who's counting? I'm just here to have fun, giggle, and make friends along the way!

Default I've pulled a lot of quality finds out of my beach.

It helps offset the high rent I pay for my 200 year old stone cottage. It can be a little hairy living here when a hurricane blows through but all in all my wife and I love our little slice of paradise.

Cheers,

BDA

Congrats on your (3rd) find. You mentioned having a shot of tequila to calm down, heck I'd have a straw in the bottle.
