Default goals for 2008

This was a good year for me as i started detecting in mid-April. It has proved to be fun as well as being profitable. The goal for this first year was to scoop enough loot to pay for the equipment investment. This has happened because of finally getting into the water + doing the hard work of salt water detecting. All of my good pickings have come from the water + now that i am comfortable with water detecting - that is where i will be.
Since i only really started getting into the water on 9/25/07 (although i had my sand shark from the end of April) my pickings total has not been that great for 2007. But, the rings (+ bracelet) that i have scooped were pretty good + that is what has encouraged me for 2008. Accordingly, i have set a goal of 50 rings of platinum, gold, or silver for 2008 (health + vicissitudes permitting).
It has been great meeting all of you experienced looters as your detecting advice, encouragement, and pickings has profited me immensely. I look forward to a year of great looting (+ in all other ways) for all of us.
Donald

Good luck on your goals. I should finally be getting my shark wet soon as well. JC

I'll say you did well! And, in spite of the surf pixies! I am hoping you will exceed your goal and have plenty to show us in 2008!
