Default A new coin for my collection and the oldest yet - 1826

I went hunting at the swimming hole Jobson's Cove and did some deep digging. I kept following targets deeper and deeper as I dug away beside the large rocks in the pic below. After 2 feet of diggin and a hole 3'x3' I hit coarse gravel, Paydirt! Another foot or so of digging (the hole kept collapsing) and I pulled up a nice, thick and very heavy 1826 King George IV, British Large Penny! It cleaned up quite well considering how long this copper coin had been in the gravel and salt water. No gold on this hunt but I now have a new leader in my coin collection for oldest coin found in the water; it replaces the 1848 Amercan Large Cent that I found a little over a year ago. The copper must be more pure in these older coins because they resist the salt much better than newer copper coinage. I've included pics of both the British Large Penny and the American Large Cent for comparision.
